After they both played in tournaments last month in La Manga, Spain, the U.S. Under-23 and Under-20 women's national teams will hold concurrent training camps from April 13 to 20 in Carson, Calif.

And there will be a trio of players with state ties in action, with Marquette's Emily Jacobson (Shorewood) and Maegan Kelly part of the Under-23 team and incoming University of Wisconsin midfielder Rose Lavelle on the Under-20 team.

It's the first national team invitation for the Golden Eagles' duo.

Jacobson, a 5-foot-9 junior defender, was a third-team All-Big East Conference selection last fall as she helped Marquette (18-2-3) post a 0.55 goals-against average and 17 shutouts in 23 matches. She added one goal and five assists in 2012 and has two goals and seven assists in 43 career appearances (22 starts).

Kelly has led the Golden Eagles in assists each of the past two years, led the team in goals in 2011 and was second in 2012 and was a first-team All-Big East pick both years. The junior midfielder posted eight goals and 13 assists last fall, and has produced 29 goals and 29 assists in 68 matches (43 starts) in her career.

Lavelle also was with the Under-20 team at the 12 Nations Tournament in Spain, coming on as a sub at halftime of the opener and playing the full 90 minutes in the other two matches as the U.S. side went 0-1-2. She was listed as a forward in UW's announcement of its 2013 recruiting class, but played as a midfielder in Spain.

Coach Randy Waldrum's Under-23 team will scrimmage the Under-20 side, under the direction of coach Michelle French, on April 16 and 19 as part of the camps.
