Cooke brings Coerver course to state

Charlie Cooke, a former Chelsea and Scottish national team player and the co-founder of Coerver Coaching, is coming to Wisconsin.

The 70-year-old Cooke will be the director for the Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma course on April 6 and 7 at the Brookfield Indoor Soccer Center. It's the first time the course is being offered in the state.

Cooke made 299 appearances in 13 seasons over two stints at Chelsea, from 1966 to '72 and 1974 to '78. The winger also played for Aberdeen and Dundee in his native Scotland, earned 16 caps for the national team and played in the North American Soccer League and the Major Indoor Soccer League.

The Youth Diploma course costs $375 and includes:

  • 12 hours of instruction (field and classroom)
  • PDF booklet of all field sessions and drills
  • "The Coerver Coaching Session Planner," a new, five-DVD series
  • Six-month subscription to the Coerver Coaching online drill library
  • Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma certificate and adidas shirt
  • The New Era Drill Book
  • Lunch both days
