Soccer experience: Played at Madison Edgewood High School and on intramural teams at UW-La Crosse. Started coaching YMCA teams in La Crosse and has coached Under-8 to Under-12 teams for the Verona Area Soccer Club the past five years. She's now on the club's board. Favorite rec soccer moment: "My birthday one year, I scored three goals. I was playing with Raw Coconuts then. Oh, I have a better one — once I scored on a header." (Does that mean you're not usually a threat in the air?) "I usually score from the outside on rainbows." Boots: Kelmes. "They're my faves. But I totally need new ones." Best player you've played with or against: "I'm not very good with names ... It probably was at (indoor) Lunch Bunch. There are a bunch of good players there. (Teammate) Mark Harring, I love playing with him. And Tom Kuehne, he's fun to play with, too." Why do you play? "Because I like the game and I love the exercise. ... And it's a good team sport." At this point, 12-year-old daughter Demi Weisbrod (second from right in the above photo) interjects: "She plays from here," motioning to her mother's heart. Do you have an on-field pet peeve? "When people get beat and quit instead of keep going." Are you a soccer fan? If so, any specific teams or leagues? "I'll watch any soccer, it doesn't matter who's playing, I'll watch it." Do you have a rival? "Annie. I love playing against her." What aspect of your game needs work? "My gracefulness. I can't turn on a dime anymore. My quickness. I'm just not fast anymore. My high school soccer nickname was 'Wheels.' Now it should be wheelchair." Favorite gum (more information from Demi, joined in the above photo by friend Carly Juzwik and Peggy Schaefer, Weisbrod's sister-in-law): "She has a passion for mint gum."
