The Milwaukee Wave is hoping Dale Sveum can bring them a little of his Easter Sunday luck.
Sveum, who played a key role in the most famous Easter Sunday in Milwaukee sports history, will be a special guest of the Wave for tonight's Major Indoor Soccer League Championship Game match against Monterrey La RaZa at U.S. Cellular Arena.
The Brewers started the 1987 season 11-0, but trailed the Texas Rangers 4-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning on April 19, Easter Sunday. But Rob Deer hit a three-run home run to left field with one out to tie the score, and Sveum gave Milwaukee a dramatic 6-4 victory with a two-out, two-run shot that landed in the bullpen in right field.
Sveum is in third season as a coach for the Brewers, who open the season Monday against the Colorado Rockies at Miller Park.
The Wave and La RaZa kick off at 5 p.m. today, and the game can be seen on FS Wisconsin.
