Andy Stadler (Wauwatosa West) is headed back to Swedish club Sandvikens IF.
The club announced that Stadler will re-join the team next week for a trial in advance of the Division 1 Norra season, which kicks off April 15.
Stadler had five goals in 11 appearances in all competitions for Sandvikens last year, playing all but 18 minutes in his 10 league matches with the side.
Sandvikens (14-4-4) finished second in the Division 2 Norra Svealand in 2011, two points behind Enköpings SK FK (15-4-3), and missed out on promotion to the Division 1 Norra – one of two leagues that make up Sweden's third division.
But another team withdrew from the 14-team league during the offseason and Sandvikens was awarded the spot because it had the best record among the second-place sides in the country's six Division 2 leagues.
- Goalkeeper Josh Lambo (Middleton) is no longer in camp with Major League Soccer's D.C. United following a two-week trial.
- Forward A.J. Konchar (UW-Green Bay) is one of 71 players set to participate in the North American Soccer League Combine, which is Friday through Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
- The resumption of the Frauen Bundesliga, Germany's top women's league, was pushed back one week. Sarah Hagen (Appleton North/UW-Milwaukee) and Bayern Munich now will start the spring portion of the season Feb. 19 against Hamburger SV, while Katie Bethke (Eau Claire Memorial) and Bayer Leverkusen are now scheduled to play FFC Turbine Potsdam on Feb. 26. Hagen scored twice in a 3-0 victory over Sindelfingen, which leads the 2.Bundesliga Süd, in a recent training match. Leverkusen, meanwhile, advanced to the quarterfinals of an indoor tournament in Magdeburg, but Bethke wasn't allowed to play because she was still waiting for her international clearance.
