Milwaukee WaveThe Milwaukee Wave have the top offense in the Major Indoor Soccer League, even if they don't have any of the league's top scorers.

The defending champions showed off their deep attack again Monday night, as Marco Terminesi scored four goals and Nick Perera and Ian Bennett added two apiece in a 23-10 victory over the host Rochester Lancers in a match watched by 5,212 fans.

The Wave (11-1) scored six straight goals over the third and fourth quarters, using a 14-0 surge to seal their third straight win after the expansion Lancers (6-9) had used back-to-back 3-point goals to pull within 9-8.

Perera had the first and last goals in the outburst, while Terminesi also scored twice in the run. Bennett, meanwhile, played a role in three consecutive goals, setting up Perera's 3-pointer and a goal by Giuliano Oliveiro before nailing a 3-pointer of his own late in the third quarter.

Terminesi, who was Milwaukee's leading scorer last season but missed the first seven games this season because of an undisclosed injury, also had a 3-pointer earlier and started the third and fourth quarters with quick goals – he scored 27 seconds after halftime and 15 seconds into the final period. He has seven goals in his past three games.

Perera and Bennett matched Marcio Leite for the team lead in goals with 10 for the Wave, whose average of 7.3 goals per game is well ahead of the next team in the MISL statistics (Rochester is second at 6.5 per game).

Eleven players got on the scoresheet and goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra finished with eight saves for Milwaukee, which plays its next three matches at the Wichita Wings – Friday and Saturday and again on Thursday, Jan. 26.

The Wave have a seven-game lead in the loss column over the second-place Missouri Comets (9-8) and the Wings (5-8) in the Central Division with 12 games remaining.
