Milwaukee WaveHewerton scored four goals, and the Milwaukee Wave scored six straight goals spanning halftime as they remained unbeaten with a 24-18 victory over the Missouri Comets in a Major Indoor Soccer League game watched by 3,316 fans Friday night at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Player-assistant Giuliano Oliveiro added a goal and three assists – his first points of the season – for the Wave (5-0), while Nick Perera scored twice and Ian Bennett and Marcio Leite each had a goal and two assists.

With the match tied at 6 in the second quarter, JP Rodrigues put Milwaukee ahead for good and Leite and Perera scored in the final 1 minute, 2 seconds of the first half as the Wave took a 12-6 halftime lead.

The advantage grew to 12 at 18-6 in the third quarter as Hewerton scored twice sandwiched around Matt Stewart's first goal of the season.

The Comets (4-3) tried to rally, scoring six of the final nine goals, but goals by Bennett, Hewerton and Perera were enough to seal Milwaukee's second win over Missouri in 14 days. Hewerton's final goal was his sixth of the season, matching Leite for the team lead.

Marcel Feenstra made 14 saves for the Wave, who face the expansion Rochester Lancers (3-3) for the first time next Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Arena.
