Milwaukee Wave coach Keith Tozer, who has won more than 600 games and five indoor soccer league championships, was one of nine people named to the United Soccer Leagues Hall of Fame Class of 2011 on Tuesday.
He is one of three men named in the MISL category of the Hall, joining legendary player Tatu and longtime Baltimore Blast owner Edwin Hale Sr. Tozer and his fellow inductees will be honored at a banquet Dec. 16 in Clearwater Beach, Fla.
The 54-year-old Tozer, in his 29th season, has a 687-432 overall record after the Wave won their 2011-12 opener last Sunday. This is his 19th season in Milwaukee, where he has compiled a 468-262 mark along with winning league titles in 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2000-01, 2004-05 and 2010-11. The team also lost in the finals four times.
Tozer has been named Coach of the Year eight times and his teams have had just three losing seasons, none since his first season with the Wave in 1992-93.
