Wisconsin's ProsMidfielders JC Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) and David Prochazka (UW-Green Bay) won't be offered contracts by BK Häcken, the Swedish club announced Monday.

The former Phoenix standouts had been on trial with the top-level Allsvenskan club in Gothenburg for the past three weeks.

BK Häcken sporting director Sonny Karlsson praised Banks and Prochazka as "good football players and great guys," but said the team had better options in the midfield. Karlsson added that the club could bring them back for another look in the future.

  • Goalkeeper Matt Pyzdrowski (Marquette) started training camp with the Montreal Impact of the North American Soccer League on Monday in Brossard, Quebec. Pyzdrowski is on trial, but would appear to have a great opportunity to make the team – Andrei Badescu is the only keeper on the Impact's roster. Pyzdrowski, 24, was the backup for the Portland Timbers in the USSF Division-2 Pro League last summer, posting a 0.49 goals-against average with one shutout in three league appearances.
  • Montreal also announced that "no decision has been made" on whether midfielder Marco Terminesi will return to the team this season. The 26-year-old Terminesi, who plays for the Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League, was sidelined with a brain tumor last year but has since returned to action.
