 FC Politehnica Timisoara forward Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) earned his first call-up to the Canadian national team, his club announced.
Canada plays a friendly in Greece on Feb. 9 in Larissa – the Canadian Soccer Association hasn't yet announced a roster for the match. Ricketts, 23, previously has played for the Canadian Under-23 and Under-20 teams.
He currently is in training camp in Spain with Romanian club Poli Timisoara, with whom he signed in November after two seasons at Finnish club MyPa. Liga I, the Romanian top division, resumes play after its winter break in late February. Poli Timisoara is in second place in the 18-team league and hasn't lost this season, going 8-0-10.
