JC Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) continues to impress in his latest trial in Sweden, this one at top-division club BK Häcken.
Banks played the full 90 minutes and scored the final goal as Häcken beat Norwegian side Sörlandslaget 3-1 on Friday at the Color Line Cup, an indoor preseason tournament in Kristiansand, Norway. (Video below)
Häcken manager Sonny Karlsson said the trial for Banks and Swedish defender David Prochazka (UW-Green Bay), a former Häcken juniors player, will last three weeks as the team prepares for the Allsvenskan season.
Both former Phoenix standouts played the final 15 minutes of Thursday's 3-2 victory over Norwegian club Viking Stavanger. Häcken will play host IK Start in the final of the six-team tournament on Sunday.
Banks, 21, previously had trials with Allsvenkan side Trelleborgs FF and Hammarby and Degerfors IF, which play in the second-division Superettan. He also was drafted by Toronto FC in the first round of the Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft.
