Midfielder Lindsay Tarpley (Madison) will travel to the United Kingdom on Monday in preparation for the U.S. women's national team's first match in England.
The U.S. will play England at 2 p.m. April 2 at London's historic Brisbane Road, home of League One club Leyton Orient.
The game, which will be televised by ESPN2, is part of a 20-day training camp in the U.K. as the Americans prepare for this summer's FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany.
Tarpley, preparing for the Women's Professional Soccer season with magicJack, is one of 22 players on the 24-woman roster who helped the U.S. win the Algarve Cup last week in Portugal.
The U.S. and England have played 10 times in the 27-year history of the U.S. women's national team, with four matches in Europe, two in China and four in the U.S. The English national team, which also is headed to the Women's World Cup, is 10th in the FIFA world rankings; the U.S. has been No. 1 since 2008.
The Americans also will spend four days training in Scotland and will face Scotland in a closed-door training match during their trip.
