It's an all-private schools affair for the WIAA Division 2 state girls soccer tournament.
Appleton Xavier, Green Bay Notre Dame, Madison Edgewood and Waukesha Catholic Memorial, all former members of the Wisconsin Independent Schools Athletic Association, make up the field for the tournament at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.
All four have played in state finals and three of them already have state championship trophies. Here's a look at the quartet:

Final WSCA ranking: Honorable mention.
State tournament history: Eighth WIAA appearance, second in a row. Won Division 3 title in 2004 and Division 2 titles in 2005 and '08.
From the touchline: Started season with 11 consecutive shutouts and have allowed just four goals on the year. ... Losses were 1-0 to quarterfinal foe Green Bay Notre Dame and to Division 1 Green Bay Preble. ... Knocked off previously unbeaten and untied Ashland 3-0 in sectional finals for the second straight season. ... Senior F Megan Pawlak (25 goals, 18 assists) and sophomore M Fallon Peplinski (6 goals, 26 assists) power the offense, while sophomore GK Tarynn Theilig has a 0.23 goals-against average and 16 shutouts.
Green Bay Notre Dame Tritons
Coach: Bob Rickards (146-82-27 overall, 116-43-24 at Notre Dame).
Record: 15-7-3 (7-2-2 Fox River Classic Conference, fifth). Last 10 games: 9-1-0.
Averages: Goals for – 2.08. Goals against – 0.80. Shutouts: 14.
Final WSCA ranking: Honorable mention.
State tournament history: Seventh WIAA appearance, first since 2009. Runners-up in 2002 and '03.
From the touchline: Have gone 11-1-2 in past 14 matches, allowing just three goals in that span. ... Outscored first four playoff opponents 16-0. ... All seven losses have come to Division 1 teams. ... Nicole Vancampenhout has a team-high 13 goals, while fellow senior F Katie Sturzl and senior M Alexandra Zurawski each had two goals during sectionals.
Madison Edgewood Crusaders
Coach: Chris Martinelli, 16th season (174-112-38).
Record: 15-2-6 (6-0-0 Southern Badger Conference). Last 10 games: 7-1-2.
Averages: Goals for – 1.61. Goals against – 0.52. Shutouts: 14.
Final WSCA ranking: Third.
State tournament history: Fourth WIAA appearance, third in a row. Won 2009 state title; runners-up in 2006 – both matches against Waukesha Catholic Memorial.
From the touchline: Both losses were by one goal to ranked Division 1 teams, Verona 1-0 and Madison Memorial 2-1. ... Lorraine Guerin (8 goals, 6 assists), Hannah Elfman (7 and 7) and Mackenzie Reese (6 and 5), all senior midfielders, lead a balanced offense. ... Two highest scoring matches have been in the playoffs, a 6-1 win over Platteville-Lancaster in the regional semifinals and a 5-0 victory over Sauk Prairie in the sectional final. ... Junior GK Molly Meriggioli has 13 shutouts and is allowing less than a half goal per match.
Waukesha Catholic Memorial Crusaders
Coach: John Burke (361-40-27).
Record: 19-6-2 (4-2-1 Classic Eight Conference, third). Last 10 games: 7-2-1.
Averages: Goals for – 2.19. Goals against – 0.78. Shutouts: 15.
Final WSCA ranking: First.
State tournament history: Seventh WIAA appearance, sixth in a row. Won state titles in 2004, '06, '07 and '10; runners-up in 2008 and '09.
From the touchline: Defending state champions were ranked first in WSCA poll all season. ... Senior F Nikki Condit, a DePaul recruit, has 16 goals and 15 assists – meaning she's had a hand in 31 of team's 58 goals (53 percent). ... Eighteen players have recorded points. ... Four losses came to ranked Division 1 teams and other two were to California schools – including Davis, ranked third in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
