WSCA

The top prep girls soccer conference in Wisconsin this spring? Right now, you could make a pretty good case for it being the North Shore Conference.

Five of the conference's eight teams are either ranked or receiving honorable mention in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Division 1 state poll, led by top-ranked Mequon Homestead.

Grafton is ranked fifth and Whitefish Bay is 10th, while Cedarburg and Glendale Nicolet are honorable mention. Germantown (7-0-2), which leads the North Shore with a 3-0-0 record, isn't among the teams in the poll.

After several weeks filled with changes in the polls, the rankings were relatively stable this week.

All three No. 1 teams remained the same as a week ago, with Waukesha Catholic Memorial and Winnebago Lutheran holding down the top spots in divisions 2 and 3, respectively. The Division 2 poll remained unchanged from last week.

The only new team in the Division 1 poll is Verona, which made the jump to No. 6 from honorable mention. In Division 3, Kenosha St. Joseph moved in at No. 4 and Racine Prairie School is fifth after being honorable mention last week.
