Milwaukee Marquette didn't lose last week, but the Hilltoppers fell in both major national prep boys soccer rankings.
Marquette traveled to California to play two nationally ranked sides, and rallied from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to tie Carmichael Jesuit 3-3 on Saturday. That came a day after the Hilltoppers came from behind to beat Granite Bay 2-1.
Still, Marquette (18-0-1) dropped from second to fourth in this week's ESPN RISE Fab 50 and slipped from fourth to fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
Senior Patrick Hodan, a Notre Dame recruit, had a big weekend for the Hilltoppers out west. He scored the tying goal and set up Alex McBride's 70th-minute game-winner against Granite Bay and had two goals against Jesuit, including the equalizer in the 70th, to boost his season total to 33.
Jesuit (14-1-4) moved up four places to No. 15 in the ESPN RISE Fab 50 and fell five places to No. 14 in the NSCAA poll this week, while Granite Bay (13-3-3) dropped 18 spots to No. 45 in the ESPN RISE rankings.
