Prep boysThe state's top two prep boys soccer teams are headed to St. Louis this weekend for one of the country's top tournaments.

Milwaukee Marquette and Middleton, ranked first and second in the most recent Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Division 1 state poll, are among 60 teams from 13 states taking part in the seventh annual Gateway City Classic.

The Hilltoppers (13-0-0), ranked sixth in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and third by ESPN RISE, will take on Illinois' Lake Forest Academy on Friday in nearby O'Fallon, Ill.

Marquette then faces Reitz Memorial from Evansville, Ind., and St. Louis Vianney on Saturday. Reitz Memorial is 32nd in the ESPN RISE Fab 50 and honorable mention in the NSCAA poll.

The Cardinals (14-1-1), meanwhile, play host St. Louis DeSmet Jesuit on Friday before matches against Zionsville, Ind., and Louisville (Kent.) Ballard on Saturday. DeSmet is ranked 19th in the ESPN RISE Fab 50 and honorable mention in the NSCAA poll.

Marquette moved up six spots in the NSCAA rankings this week and took over as the No. 1 team in the NSCAA Region VI poll, which includes No. 6 Middleton, No. 7 Brookfield East, No. 9 Waukesha West and No. 15 Neenah. The Hilltoppers also rose one place this week in the ESPN RISE Fab 50.
