It was only a friendly, but J.C. Banks (Milwaukee Riverside/UW-Green Bay) made quite an impression Saturday night.
Banks got on the scoresheet and was named Man of the Match after an impressive display during Minnesota United's 4-2 loss to Mexico's Club León in front of 18,505 fans at Target Field in Minneapolis. (Watch highlights below)
The midfielder played an influential part in the North American Soccer League team's attack throughout, and beat U.S. national team goalkeeper William Yarbrough to tie the score at 2 in the 69th minute.
Banks, in his second season with the Loons, made five substitute appearances in league play and logged 185 minutes in all competitions during the team's spring season. Minnesota United, which will move to Major League Soccer in 2017 or '18, resumes NASL play with the start of the fall season July 2.
