Two Wisconsin natives and a former state college player are among the finalists for the 2015 CONCACAF Awards, which honor the top performers in North and Central America and the Caribbean.
Jesse Marsch (Racine Case) is one of 10 candidates for Male Coach of the Year after his impressive first season with the New York Red Bulls.
Marsch led the Red Bulls to an 18-10-6 record and the Major League Soccer Supporters' Shield as the league's top regular-season team. They set club records for victories and home wins and led MLS with 62 goals and a plus-19 goal differential.
Oak Creek's Margaret Domka (Stevens Point/UW-Stevens Point) is of the 10 finalists for the Female Referee of the Year award. After officiating in the past three FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cups, the Union Grove High School Spanish teacher made her debut at the Women's World Cup last summer in Canada.
And Michele Dalton (UW) is among the 10 candidates for Female Goalkeeper of the Year following her first season with the Chicago Red Stars. The 27-year-old joined her hometown team after stints with clubs in Iceland and Sweden. She started the season as Karina LeBlanc's backup, but took over for the Canadian international during the Women's World Cup and ended up leading the league with a 0.92 goals-against average and five shutouts in 12 games.
Voting by fans, media members and national team head coaches and captains will determine the award winners. Fans can vote online here through 4 p.m. Monday
