After impressing with the club's Under-18 and Under-21 teams during his first season in England, Andrija Novakovich (Muskego) made his senior debut for Reading FC on Saturday.

The 18-year-old forward came on for the final 5 minutes of the Royals' 4-1 away loss to Watford in a Football League Sky Bet Championship match at Vicarage Road.

With an FA Cup quarterfinal replay against Bradford City set for Monday, Reading manager Steve Clarke rested many regulars and brought in several young players for the match. It was the first time Novakovich has been named to the 18-man game-day roster since signing a two-year contract with the Royals last summer.

Novakovich has nine goals and two assists in 15 matches for Reading's Under-18 side and has a goal and an assist in nine appearances with the Under-21 team.

  • Charles Kazlauskas (Milwaukee Thomas More) played the full 90 minutes at left back as Helmond Sport played a 0-0 draw with PSV II last Monday night in the Netherlands. The point allowed Helmond Sport to move out of the relegation zone in the 20-team second division – they lost to Eindhoven 3-2 on Friday and remain tied with Fortuna Sittard for 18th place on 23 points, but have a better goal differential (minus-26 to minus-33) with nine matches remaining in the season.
  • Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) and Hapoel Haifa closed out the regular season in Israel's Ligat Ha'al on Saturday with a 2-0 road loss to archival Maccabi Haifa. Ricketts has three goals in 29 appearances (22 starts) in all competitions for Hapoel Haifa, which finished 12th in the 14-team league with 7-15-4 record. The bottom eight teams will play each other one more time, with those results added to the regular-season results for the final table – the bottom two teams will be relegated to the second-tier Liga Leumit for the 2015-16 season. • Greg Rosenthal (UW-Milwaukee) and Team Wellington finished second in the regular season in New Zealand's ASB Premiership. The 26-year-old defender has played in 13 league matches (12 starts) for Team Wellington (9-4-3), which finished behind only Auckland City (14-2-0). The top four teams in the nine-team league qualified for the playoffs, which include home-and-home semifinal series and a one-off final. Rosenthal previously played in Sweden with Gamla Uppsala (2011 and '12) and Valsta Syrianska (2013). Next month, Team Wellington will play in the OFC Champions League – they'll face Vanuatu club Tafea, French Polynesian side Tefana and Papua New Guinea's Hekari United in Group C play from April 12 to 17 in Suva, Fiji. The three group winners and the top runner-up advance to the semifinals in late April and the champion earns a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup, which includes the winners of the UEFA Champions League, South America's Copa Libertadores, the CONCACAF Champions League and the Asian Champions League.
  • Maegan Kelly (Marquette) made a good first impression with her new club. Kelly scored four goals in her debut for Åland United, a 7-0 rout of host IFK Mariehamn in a Finnish Cup match on Feb. 28. She scored in the 13th, 22nd, 63rd and 89th minutes and her older sister Katie played all 90 minutes in the midfield in her first match for Åland United, which plays host to fellow Naisten Liiga side PK-35 in the next round March 21. • Åland United, which opens league play April 19, has another player with a Wisconsin connection: Monica Dolinsky is in her second season with the club. Her father, John, played for the Milwaukee Wave from 1986 to '88 and was the indoor team's coach from 1987 to '90. On Twitter: @modo10
  • Goalkeeper Genevieve Richard (UW) is in training camp with Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League. The former Canadian youth international set a program record with 16 shutouts and was named a third-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America last fall. Richard is one of four keepers in camp with Sky Blue FC: Aubrey Bledsoe and Brittany Cameron are under contract with the team, while Shannon O'Brien also is on trial.
