Perfect start for UW's Lavelle, U.S. Under-23 women in Spain

University of Wisconsin midfielder Rose Lavelle and the U.S. Under-23 women's national team won its first two matches via shutout at the Six Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain.

Lavelle came off the bench in the 68th minute as the Americans opened the event with a 1-0 victory over Japan on Thursday, then started and logged 78 minutes in a 2-0 win over Norway on Saturday.

The U.S. faces England on Monday to wrap up the tournament.
