Another Wisconsin native is headed to Europe to play professional soccer.

Rebekah Roller (Brookfield East), who finished her college career at DePaul in fall 2013, signed with Finnish club Merilappi United of the top-level Naisten Liiga.

The 23-year-old Roller primarily was a midfielder for the Blue Demons, but also can play center back. She had two goals and 10 assists in her career, setting the DePaul program record for starts (80) and tying the mark for games played (82).

Merilappi United went 7-11-5 and finished sixth in the 10-team Naisten Liiga last season. Roller, a second-team All-Big East Conference selection as a senior, won't be the only player with state ties in the league: Sisters Katie Kelly (Marquette) and Maegan Kelly (Marquette) both signed with Åland United for 2015.
