Dec. 19, 1954: Otto Greilinger scored from 20 yards out on the hour mark as Milwaukee Sport Club held off AAC Eagles 1-0 in a National Challenge Cup Western Region match at Winnemac Park in Chicago. A crowd of 1,500 "stunned but impressed fans," according to the Milwaukee Journal, watched the first-year club pull off the upset when Greilinger took a pass from Karl Reeb and his shot got just under the crossbar and found the net. Sport Club advanced to play St. Louis Simpkins Ford in the regional semifinals of the tournament, which is now known as the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
