Nov. 28, 1912: Milwaukee's Caledonians beat host Belle City 4-0 in a Thanksgiving Day match in Racine. According to the Milwaukee Journal, Caledonians manager Robert Guthrie was "endeavoring to boost the English game in Milwaukee," and the team "gave a splendid exhibition of the possibilities of soccer" against Belle City. Guthrie also reportedly called his team "without a doubt, the best in the state." Two years later in 1914, Caledonians were one of the five founding members of the Wisconsin State Football Association; that organization was later renamed the Wisconsin Soccer Association
