Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) came up with another big goal for the Columbus Crew.

Finlay first-timed a cross from Hector Jimenez in the 78th minute, sparking a late comeback as the Crew scored three times in 5 minutes to stun the Philadelphia Union 3-2 in a Major League Soccer match Saturday. (Watch the goal below)

Finlay's strike was followed by goals in the 79th and 82nd minutes as Columbus moved to within a point of clinching a playoff berth with two matches left in the regular season. He's scored in three straight games and has 10 goals on the season – that is tied for 16th in MLS.

"We're pretty disappointed with the two goals we gave up," said Finlay, who is the first American-born player to reach double figures in goals for the Crew since 2004. "I think it shows our resilience, to be able to battle back and stick to our system and still play the style of soccer that we want to play. We were rewarded with that."

  • Calum Mallace (Marquette) also has enjoyed a breakout season in MLS, becoming a regular in the midfield for the Montreal Impact. He picked up his third assist of the year on Saturday with a tremendous pass from his own half, playing in Marco Di Vaio with the long ball. Di Vaio's 12th-minute goal gave the host Impact the lead in a 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution. (Watch goal below) The 24-year-old Mallace has made 21 appearances (10 starts) for Montreal. • Katie Kelly (Marquette) scored her sixth goal of the season in second-half stoppage time as Kokkola F10 lost to host ONS 4-1 in a Naisten Liiga relegation round match Saturday in Finland. Despite the setback, which left them 1-4-0 in the mini-tournament, Kokkola F10 has clinched a spot in the top league next season – the relegation round results are combined with the other regular-season matches. Kokkola F10 (6-14-3) closes out the season on Saturday. On Twitter: @KKelly21
  • Carlos McCrary, a former Madison 56ers forward, scored his third and fourth goals of the season Saturday as 1.FCA 04 Darmstadt routed host SSV Lindheim 7-1 in a Verbandsliga Hessen-Süd match in Germany. McCrary scored the fourth and fifth goals in the 59th and 68th for the sixth-division club. On Twitter: @CarlosMcCrary
