Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) extended his fine run of form Saturday, but it wasn't enough for the Columbus Crew to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
Finlay scored for the third time in four matches as the Crew lost to the New England Revolution 2-1 in Foxborough, Mass.

With three games left in the regular season, Columbus (11-10-10) is in fifth place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference – the final playoff spot. The Crew had gone 3-0-1 in their previous four games before the setback against New England.

The Revolution took the lead in the 20th minute, but Finlay pulled the visitors level just 5 minutes later. He got a pass from Tony Tchani, split two defenders and slotted a shot past New England goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth from 15 yards out for his ninth goal – all coming in the past 20 matches. • Alex Horwath (UW) and Ljungskile SK got a 90th-minute goal to extend their unbeaten streak to 22 matches, but the 3-3 draw against host Degerfors IF on Saturday allowed Hammarby and GIF Sundsvall to jump over them in the Superettan title race in Sweden's second division. Horwath made three saves in the match, which was the first time this season Ljungskile allowed more than two goals. Hammarby (16-5-6) now leads the Superettan on goal differential over GIF Sundsvall (17-7-3) – both teams have 54 points, one ahead of Ljungskile (14-2-11) with three matches remaining. • Matt Pyzdrowski (Marquette) made two saves in his eighth clean sheet of the season as Ängelholms FF blanked host Varbergs BoIS FC 1-0 Sunday to move out of the relegation playoff spots in the Superettan. Ängelholms (9-12-6), which is 11th in the 16-team league with three games left, lost center back Eric Pothast (Marquette) after 34 minutes due to injury. On Twitter: @MattPyzdrowski @Eric_Pothast
  • Andrew Stadler (Wauwatosa West) scored his 12th goal of the season just 21 seconds into the match, but Landskrona BoIS saw its winless streak reach six with the 3-1 loss to visiting Hammarby. (Watch the goal below) Stadler got a pass from Erik Andersson on the right side at the top of the box, turned his defender and ripped a right-foot shot past keeper Johannes Hopf to give the home side the early lead – Stadler is tied for sixth in the league in goals. Landskrona (6-16-5) is in 14th place with three games left, one point ahead of Assyriska FF (4-13-10) and three ahead of Husqvarna FF (5-16-5). The bottom two teams will be relegated to Division 1 for 2015, while the 13th- and 14th-place finishers will need to win playoff series to keep their spots in the second division. • James Weber (Hartford) scored again as Gullringens GOIF topped Mjölby Södra IF 2-1 in a Division 3 Nordöstra Götaland finale Saturday in Sweden. Weber tied for fifth in the fifth-division league with 11 goals in just 10 matches, and has 30 goals in 34 appearances for Gullringens over the past three years. It was the first win for Kokkola F10 (1-3-0) in the mini league that includes four teams – the bottom finisher after the round-robin competition will be relegated to the second-tier Ykkönen for next season. On Wednesday, Kelly scored her fifth goal of the season to level the score against ONS, but the visitors rattled off seven straight goals in a 7-1 rout. On Twitter: @KKelly21
  • Shannon Smyth (Mequon/Milwaukee DSHA) gave Amazon Grimstad the lead with her third goal of the season just before halftime, but Trondheims-Ørn scored in the 94th minute to pull out a 2-2 tie Sunday in a Toppserien match in Norway. The point was enough to move Amazon Grimstad (2-15-2) one point above Grand Bodø (1-14-4) in the 12-team league with three matches remaining – the last-place team will be relegated to the First Division for next season, while the 11th-place finisher faces a First Division side in a playoff series.
