The Chicago Fire Under-15 Academy team, which includes Vitalis Takawira Jr. (Greendale), advanced to Saturday's final of the Liga Bancomer MX Tournament in Mexico City.

The Fire scored two second-half goals to rally past Toronto FC 2-1 in the Major League Soccer semifinal Friday to earn a spot in the final against Monarcas Morelia or Pachuca at 11 a.m. Saturday at the historic Estadio Azteca. The match will be televised live on Univision.

University of Wisconsin men's assistant Stan Anderson (UW-Parkside) is an assistant for the Fire, who lost to Pachuca 4-1, tied the Houston Dynamo 1-1 and fell to Chivas de Guadalajara 3-2 in group play. The eight-team tournament features four teams from MLS clubs and four from LigaMX clubs.
