The Big Eight Conference has a big presence in this week's Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Division 1 state boys poll.

The unbeaten trio of Middleton, Madison West and Madison Memorial hold down the middle three spots in the rankings for the second straight week, with the Cardinals and Regents moving up one spot and the Spartans slipping two places.

Memorial dropped to No. 4 in this week's poll after a 2-2 home draw against Beloit Memorial in a league match last Thursday, a result that put the Purple Knights (10-0-2) on the voters' radar – they earned honorable mention in this week's poll.

The four Big Eight rivals square off against fellow unbeatens this week: Memorial takes on archrival West on Tuesday night at Mansfield Stadium and plays host to Middleton on Thursday night – the Regents play at Beloit at the same time.

All four No. 1 teams remained the same this week, and 19 of the 20 ranked sides also were in the polls last week: New Holstein/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, which is fifth in Division 3, is the lone exception.
