After stints in Finland, Romania, Norway and Turkey, Tosaint Ricketts (UW-Green Bay) is headed to Israel to continue his professional soccer career.

The Canadian international striker signed with Hapoel Haifa of the Ligat ha'Al last week, joining the Sharks on a free transfer after negotiating his release from Turkish second-division club Bucaspor during the spring.

Ricketts, who turns 27 on Aug. 6, scored nine goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for Bucaspor last season. He has 23 goals in 102 matches in league play in his career, which also includes time with Finnish side MYPA, defunct Romanian club Politehnica Timişoara and Norwegian sides Vålerenga and Sandnes Ulf.

Hapoel Haifa (9-17-7) finished fifth in the eight-team Ligat ha'Al last season and tied for the second-lowest goal total with 30 in 33 matches (0.91 per game).

  • Andrew Stadler (Wauwatosa West) extended his goal-scoring streak to five games on Saturday, netting the 60th-minute equalizer as host Landskrona BoIS rallied past IFK Värnamo 3-1 in a Superettan match in Sweden. Stadler, 26, is tied for third in the second-tier league with nine goals in 15 appearances. On Twitter: @AndrewStadler
  • Sarah Hagen (Appleton North/UW-Milwaukee) scored her third goal in four matches with FC Kansas City in a 1-1 draw against the Western New York Flash in a National Women's Soccer League game Friday in Rochester, N.Y. Hagen made a great run, beating two defenders to a great long ball from Lauren Holiday and touching it in first time to score the opener in the 17th minute. On Twitter: @sarahapplehagen
  • Connor Brehm (Racine St. Catherine's) has been on trial with at least two clubs in the Northern Ireland Football League, spending time with Police Service of Northern Ireland FC and Carrick Rangers – both clubs play in the NIFL Championship 1, the country's second division behind the Premiership. Brehm, who scored in Carrick Rangers' 8-1 rout of Larne Tech O.B. in a preseason friendly Tuesday, played his freshman college season at NAIA Baker (Kan.) before transferring to NCAA Division II Bellarmine (Ky.). He had 14 goals in 73 appearances during his college career, which concluded last fall. On Twitter: @YouMeAndKG
