Allison Jacobson (Shorewood) scored from distance in the 89th minute, giving FC Wisconsin Eclipse a 1-0 victory over the Minnesota Thunder Academy on Monday at the Elite Clubs National League Under-17 North American Cup in Henrico, Va.

The win was the second in as many days for FCWE, which held off Missouri's St. Louis Scott Gallagher 2-1 in its Group A opener on Sunday. A win or draw against Ohio's Internationals in Wednesday's group finale will send FC Wisconsin Eclipse into Thursday's final against the Group B champion, which will be Pennsylvania's FC Bucks or New York's East Meadow.

Kristen Corral gave the Wisconsin side an early lead in its first match with a goal in the 3rd minute, and Gaby Dorsey (Hartford) doubled the advantage in the 25th. Scott Gallagher, which beat FCWE 3-0 and 1-0 during the regular season, pulled one back in the 60th but couldn't find an equalizer.

A day later, the match against the Thunder was scoreless deep into the second half.

Jacobson broke in alone on goal in the 75th, only to be denied by the Minnesota goalkeeper. But she would get another look at goal, this one from 30 yards out, and ripped a shot that banged in off the post. Jordyn Bloomer (Hartland Arrowhead) posted the clean sheet in goal for FC Wisconsin Eclipse (14-13-3), which took four of six points from the Thunder during the regular season.

The Internationals are 1-1-0 in Group A, bouncing back after a 2-1 loss to the Thunder on Sunday by beating Scott Gallagher 3-2 on Monday. The North American Cup competition is the second tier of postseason competition in the ECNL, with the Champions Cup the league's top level.
