Another week, another shutout for Alex Horwath (UW).

He made seven saves for his second clean sheet in as many appearances for Ljungskile SK in a 0-0 draw in a Superettan match against host Landskrona BoIS on Monday in Sweden.

The 27-year-old Horwath has stopped all nine shots he's faced over the first two games for Ljungskile (1-0-1), one of only two teams in the 16-team second division not to allow a goal yet this season. Andrew Stadler (Wauwatosa West) played the full 90 minutes for Landskrona (0-1-1).

  • AJ Cochran (UW) made his first professional start Saturday, playing the full 90 minutes in the Houston Dynamo's 2-0 loss to the New England Revolution in a Major League Soccer match in Foxborough, Mass. The 21-year-old got the call at center back alongside Jamaican international Jermaine Taylor with regular starter David Horst suspended after being red carded last week. Cochran's header off a free kick in the 23rd minute was one of Houston's best scoring chances. On Twitter: @Alec_Cochran
  • Chivas USA released Andrew Ribeiro (Green Bay Notre Dame) last week, just more than two months after signing the defender from their Under-23 team. The 23-year-old Ribeiro, a former Creighton standout who spent last season with USL PRO's Harrisburg City Islanders, didn't get into a first-team match for Chivas USA. He played all 180 minutes of the club's MLS Reserve League matches. On Twitter: @Brazilribs
  • The MLS Players Union released salaries for all of the league's players, and Vancouver defender Jay DeMerit (Green Bay/Bay Port) leads the Wisconsin contingent with $247,500 in guaranteed compensation for 2014. Cochran is next at $73,500, followed by Montreal Impact midfielder Calum Mallace ($65,848) and Columbus Crew midfielder-forward Ethan Finlay ($65,847.50). Ribeiro was scheduled to make $36,500,  the league minimum. View all MLS player salaries (pdf) On Twitter: @MLSPlayersUnion
