The Madison Soccer Association playoffs kick off Wednesday night at Elver Park, with the Madison United Over-30s and Madison Hotspur looking to earn a spot in Sunday's Division 2 semifinals.

Hotspur (4-3-2) won the regular-season meeting between the teams, beating United Over-30 (5-3-1) by a 2-1 score back on May 12.

Wednesday's winner will take on top-seeded Chivas (8-1-0) at 11 a.m. Sunday at Warner Park Field 1, while No. 2 seed Sporting 1836 (7-2-0) faces third-seeded Madison United Juniors (6-3-0) at 1 p.m. United Juniors claimed the sides' match earlier this spring by a 2-0 score.

In Division 1, Paradigm (8-2-0) claimed the top seed for the playoffs and will try to beat Deportivo (4-5-0) for the third time this season in a semifinal at 3 p.m. Sunday – Paradigm swept the teams' regular-season matches 4-3 and 4-1.

Second-seeded Madison United (6-2-2), the third team from the club in the postseason, meets third-seeded and defending champion Madison Fire (5-1-3) in Sunday's final match at 5 p.m. Neither team has been able to post a win against the other this spring, drawing their previous games 3-3 and 1-1.

Both finals are scheduled for July 26 at Warner 1, with the Division 2 championship at 6 p.m. and the Division 1 final at 8 p.m. The MSA is playing a short season this spring, then will return to a fall-spring championship setup starting in 2013-14.

USL SUPER-20

Marquette forward David Selvaggi and goalkeeper Adrian Remeniuk, who has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin for 2014, are on the Chicago Fire's roster for this week's USL Super-20 Championship in Bradenton, Fla.

The defending champion Fire finished second in the Midwest West Division this year with a 6-2-0 record, behind St. Louis Scott Gallagher (6-1-1). They'll play Texas' Alamo SC on Thursday, Michigan's Force FC Academy on Friday and Massachusetts' Western United Pioneers on Saturday morning in Group D play.

UW-Green Bay's Billy Donovan is on the roster for Scott Gallagher along with James Routledge, who redshirted as a freshman at Marquette last fall but has since transferred to Missouri State, and keeper Connor Sparrow, who signed a national letter of intent with UW-Milwaukee last year but then moved to Missouri-Kansas City.

The St. Louis side faces Pennsylvania's Junior Lone Star FC in their Group A opener Thursday, then takes on host IMG Academy on Friday and Connecticut's Beachside SC on Saturday morning.

The winners of the four four-team groups advance to the semifinals later on Saturday, with the final to follow on Sunday.
