July 28, 1990: Jens Gerlach scored in the 34th minute and Jürgen Rische doubled the lead 9 minutes later as East Germany beat the U.S. 2-1 in an international friendly at Milwaukee County Stadium – it's the only men's national team match played in Wisconsin. A crowd of 12,574 saw the U.S., under the direction of Milwaukee's Bob Gansler, avoid being shut out in the Milwaukee Friendship Cup thanks to Ted Eck's 89th-minute goal.
