The U.S. Futsal national team, led by Milwaukee Wave coach Keith Tozer, won all three of its matches over the weekend to win the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England.

The Americans tipped host England 2-1 on Thursday, routed Malaysia 8-1 on Friday and capped their perfect weekend with a 4-2 victory over Poland on Sunday. Kraig Chiles and Machel Millwood scored five goals apiece for the U.S. – Millwood scored all of his against Malaysia – and teenager Lucas Stauffer added three, two in the win over Poland.

Wave goalkeeper Nick Vorberg, 38, earned the victory against Malaysia in his first cap since 2008. Defender Aaron Nichols (UW) and Wave forward Bryan Perez also were on the U.S. roster, while Wave assistant Mark Litton (Racine St. Catherine's/UW-Parkside) serves in the same capacity for the national team.

  • University of Wisconsin defender AJ Cochran wasn't named to the 21-player U.S. roster for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey. However, he is one of 14 other players on the team's provisional roster and potentially could be added to the roster – teams are allowed to make changes up to 24 hours before the tournament starts June 21. "It's very important for all of them to stay fit and to be prepared to get a call," U.S. Under-20 coach Tab Ramos said in a news release. "We've already spoken with some players who are not going with us to Portugal (the team's training base for the next week) who are not on the 21 and we've made them aware of the fact that they might get a last-minute call."
  • UW midfielder Kinley McNicoll is taking part in a Canadian Under-20 women's national team camp in Vancouver. The Canadian Soccer Association hasn't announced details of the camp, but McNicoll tweeted about it today.
