Congratulations to Menomonee Falls' Kurt Windbiel, the winner of our "Rise and Shine: The Jay DeMerit Story" contest.
Windbiel fared the best in predicting the recent U.S. men's national team matches and won the grand prize: a DVD of the documentary along with a t-shirt and poster from the movie's theatrical release.
Four people correctly picked the U.S. to win both games – the Americans beat Venezuela 1-0 on a late, stoppage time goal Saturday and Panama by the same score on Wednesday.
Windbiel got an additional five points and won the contest with 15 points thanks to his astute prediction of the U.S. holding a 1-0 lead at halftime against Panama. Sun Prairie's Rich Anderegg, Madison's Ron Holzhueter and Muskego's Andrija Novakovich finished with 10 points apiece and all won the runner-up prize of "Rise and Shine" movie posters.
Thanks to everyone who entered the contest. Winners should e-mail us at
