Kenosha Tremper defender David Caban has verbally committed to play for the University of Wisconsin men's soccer team next season, TopDrawerSoccer.com reported.
Caban, who plays club soccer for the Chicago Fire, is rated as the country's 11th-best recruit in the Class of 2011 and helped the Fire win the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Under-15/16 national championship last summer.
He was the Gatorade Wisconsin Player of the Year and a first-team, all-state selection by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association in 2009.
Caban is at least the third recruit in coach John Trask's 2011 class for the Badgers, joining fellow defenders Carl Schneider of Madison La Follette and A.J. Cochran of St. Louis. Coaches can't comment on recruits until they sign national letters of intent; high school seniors can begin doing so on Wednesday.
