Capital One Academic All-America TeamWisconsin is well represented on the Capital One Academic all-district men's and women's soccer teams.

Thirty-two players from the state were named to the honor teams across the country, split into eight regions, and are now eligible for Academic All-American teams.

This year, there are four divisions: Division I, Division II, Division III and the College Division, which is for NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. In recent years, there were just two divisions, University (Division I) and College (non-Division I).

Twenty women and 12 men either from Wisconsin or playing for state schools were all-district selections, including eight with 4.00 grade-point averages: University of Wisconsin senior Laurie Nosbusch (Mequon Homestead), Marquette sophomore Kate Reigle (Brookfield East), UW-La Crosse senior defender Kristin Brown (Madison La Follette), Baylor junior Dana Larsen (Mequon Homestead), Dubuque junior Ashley Barwick (Appleton Xavier), UW-River Falls junior Carlin Bunting, Milwaukee School of Engineering junior Kate Herrmann and UW-Platteville senior Zach Wall.

Twelve of the Wisconsin student-athletes chosen this year also were all-district picks in the past.

Nosbusch, UW-Eau Claire's Alyssa Walker (Madison West) and Creighton's Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) were similarly honored in 2009, while Larsen, Bunting, Edgewood College's Elaine Gerry (Sauk Prairie), Armstrong Atlantic State's Kelli Bahr (Middleton), Grand Valley State's Ashley Botts (Beloit), Marquette's Natalie Kulla, UW-Eau Claire's Rachel Nerison, Creighton's Andrew Ribeiro (Green Bay Notre Dame) and MSOE's Dan Hosko made the teams last fall.
