For the second straight year, the Maranatha Baptist women's soccer program has a new career goal-scoring leader.
This time, though, it looks as if the mark will stand for a while.
Junior forward Karis Rogers had a hat trick in a 4-2 win over host Northland International last Tuesday in Dunbar, moving past Elise Jones' previous record of 44 goals. Jones set the standard last season, breaking the mark of 41 previously held by former Crusaders coach Sommer Rodolph.
Coming into the week, Rogers had nine goals on the season – in the form of three hat tricks – and was tied for seventh among NCAA Division III players. Her 19 points were good for a tie for 12th in the country.

Three other NAC players joined Rogers in the top 20 of the Division III scoring leaders: Edgewood College junior forward Elaine Gerry (Sauk Prairie), Lakeland senior forward Lindsay Rogers (Sheboygan South) and Alverno freshman defender Bryanna Gayle (Milwaukee Riverside).
