 Wisconsin teams are making their marks on the NCAA Division I women's soccer scene early this season.
Marquette and UW-Milwaukee are ranked in all the national polls this week, while the University of Wisconsin is either ranked or receiving votes.
The Golden Eagles (5-1-0) dropped one spot to No. 12 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll after suffering their first loss of the season Friday, falling to then-No. 7 Florida State 3-1 on the road.
Marquette also is ranked 12th in the Soccer America Top 25, 16th in the Soccer Times Top 25 and 15th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings, which include 64 teams and are meant to simulate the NCAA tournament field.
The Panthers (6-0-0), meanwhile, zoomed up eight places to No. 14 in the NSCAA poll after two more shutout victories over the weekend. UWM also is ranked 14th by Soccer America, 19th by Soccer Times and 29th by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
The Badgers (4-1-0), riding a four-game winning streak, are ranked 24th by Soccer America and 34th by TopDrawerSoccer.com, and received votes in the NSCAA and Soccer Times polls.
The Golden Eagles and Panthers meet in their annual rivalry match Wednesday night at Engelmann Stadium in a game that will be televised live on Fox Soccer as part of the NSCAA Game of the Week series. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. UWM then plays host to the Badgers at 4 p.m. Sunday.

UW-Milwaukee is ranked first in the NSCAA Great Lakes Region poll for the first time in program history, while the Badgers check in at No. 6. Marquette, meanwhile, fell back into second in the Northeast Region rankings behind Notre Dame. Regional assignments are done by conference affiliation.

The UW men's team (2-1-0), who led nationally ranked Virginia at halftime Sunday before dropping a 4-2 decision, is tied for 10th in the NSCAA Great Lakes Region rankings. UW-Milwaukee (2-1-0) received votes in the poll after beating Western Illinois and Western Michigan last weekend.

UW-Green Bay (1-0-1) is 38th in the 48-team TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings, which are meant to simulate the NCAA tournament field.

UW-Oshkosh (1-1-0) fell five spots to No. 8 in the NSCAA Division III poll after losing to Ohio Northern 1-0 in its season opener. The Titans remain atop the North Region rankings, which also include ninth-ranked UW-Superior (2-0-0).

Four state teams are ranked in NSCAA Division III women's regional polls: UW-Stevens Point (1-1-0) is sixth, UW-Eau Claire (1-1-0) is eighth and UW-La Crosse (3-0-0) is ninth in the North Region, while Edgewood College (2-0-0) is tied for seventh in the Central Region.

The UW-Parkside women's team, which had its scheduled season opener canceled last week due to inclement weather, is ninth in the NSCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings.
Honor roll
UW-Milwaukee junior goalkeeper Jamie Forbes earned several plaudits after posting two shutouts last week, stopping all 15 shots she faced in a 2-0 victory over Iowa State and a 1-0 win over the host Golden Gophers at the Minnesota Gold Classic.
Forbes was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the second time in her career, and also was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week and honored as a Primetime Performer of the Week by CollegeSoccer360.com.

Marquette sophomore forward Maegan Kelly joined Forbes on the TopDrawerSoccer.com honor team and was named to the Big East Conference weekly honor roll after tying a school record with four goals in a 9-0 rout of North Dakota on Sunday.

UW senior forward Laurie Nosbusch (Mequon Homestead), who scored her first two goals of the season as the Badgers won road matches at Dayton 3-1 and Cincinnati 2-1, also was honored by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

On the men's side, Creighton senior forward Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) made the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week after recording two goals and two assists in victories over Missouri-Kansas City (5-0) and Drexel (3-0).

St. Norbert freshman Katie Vanden Avond (De Pere) had hat tricks in each of her first two collegiate matches and was named the women's Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Vanden Avond scored four goals for the Green Knights in a 6-0 rout of Lakeland in Friday's season opener, then added all three in a 3-2 overtime victory over UW-River Falls on Sunday.
Milestone
Maryland men's coach Sasho Cirovski (UW-Milwaukee) earned his 300th career victory Sunday as his fourth-ranked Terrapins topped Radford 2-1.
Cirovski, who also served as an assistant under legendary coach Bob Gansler at UWM and played for the Milwaukee Wave, has a 300-125-29 record in 21 seasons. He ranks 10th in wins among active NCAA Division I men's coaches.
