Sarah HagenUW-Milwaukee senior forward Sarah Hagen (Appleton North) was named to the All White Kit Preseason All-American team.

Hagen, who has 67 goals in 65 career matches, is one of seven seniors on the inaugural AWK team chosen by writer Chris Henderson.

The U.S. Under-23 international needs eight goals this season to break into the top 25 in NCAA Division I history. If Hagen maintains her average of 1.03 goals per game for her career, she would rank 16th in Division I history, tied with current U.S. national team standout Abby Wambach of Florida.

  • Hagen and freshman Morgan LaPlant (Madison La Follette) scored first-half goals as the Panthers beat Northwestern 2-1 in an exhibition opener Monday afternoon in Evanston, Ill. LaPlant, one of four freshmen in the starting lineup for UWM, picked up a deflected ball in the box, dribbled in and finished to the far post in the 20th minute. Hagen doubled the lead about 20 minutes later with a header off a cross from Helen Steinhauser. Nine freshmen played for the Panthers, who have their annual alumni game Saturday and play host to Northern Illinois in their exhibition finale Sunday.
  • Marquette's fifth annual Fan Fest is scheduled for Friday night at Valley Fields. The free event, which includes free parking and free food provided by Qdoba, starts at 5 p.m. and features the Blue vs. Gold men's scrimmage at 7 p.m. Before the match, fans can get autographs and take pictures with Golden Eagles players and participate in several interactive soccer skills stations. The Marquette women's team will scrimmage during halftime of the men's game.
  • The 2011 schedules for 97 college teams, including 59 Wisconsin teams, have been posted on Wisconsin Soccer Central. Once again, we'll have complete schedules, results and standings for the Big Ten Conference, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Northern Athletics Conference and the Midwest Conference, in addition to every other men's and women's state team that plays in NCAA Division I, II and III or the NAIA. The only missing schedule is the Mount Mary women's team. Men | Women
