A late goal by midfielder Emily Jacobson (Shorewood) gave Marquette a 3-2 victory over reigning NCAA national champion Notre Dame in a women's exhibition match Tuesday night in South Bend, Ind.
Midfielder Britney Scott scored the other two goals for the Golden Eagles, the first tying the score and the second giving them the lead. Marquette finished the spring 4-0-1.

It might only be the exhibition season, but UW-Milwaukee forward Sarah Hagen (Appleton North) has continued her high-scoring ways. Hagen has scored seven of the Panthers' nine goals this spring and assisted on one of the other goals. UWM (2-3-0) closes the exhibition season April 30 at home against DePaul and Northwestern.

UW-Platteville recently promoted assistant Allison Sanyi to its women's head coach. Enzo Fuschino had been both the men's and women's head coach, assisted by Sanyi since 2008. Sanyi, who played at Loras (Iowa) and also coaches in the girls program at Dubuque Wahlert High School, served as the interim head coach for both Pioneers teams in 2009 as Fuschino recovered from a heart attack.
