Wisconsin Youth Soccer AssociationThe state girls club soccer champions crowned Sunday in the Wisconsin State Championships at UW-Oshkosh's Titan Stadium left little doubt to their title credentials: The winning sides scored at least four goals apiece and the average margin of victory in the four games was 3.5 goals.

Hartland club Lake Country United claimed the Under-15 and Under-16 championships, beating Madison 56ers Red 4-0 and Croatian Eagles Blue 5-1, respectively. The LCU teams both won all five of their matches during the competition, commonly referred to as the State Cup.

North Shore United Blue finished off its dominating run through the Under-17 bracket with a 4-1 victory over the Appleton Goal Getters in a rematch of last year's Under-16 final.

The Goal Getters prevailed 1-0 in overtime last fall, but North Shore won its five games by a cumulative 48-1 this year – the team claimed the Under-15 championship in 2009 under the club's old name, Cedarburg SC. The Appleton SC side had allowed just one goal in its first four games at the event.

In the Under-18 final, NEW United – a co-operative team with players from Appleton SC and FC Green Bay – surged to a 5-2 victory over Kenosha's United FC Red.

The four state champions also earned berths in next summer's U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which are June 23 to 27 in Saginaw, Mich. These divisions are contested in the fall to avoid conflicts as the WIAA season for high school girls is in the spring.
