Three Wisconsin teams, all from Milwaukee, won their groups and advanced to Tuesday's semifinals at the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Championships in Appleton.
FC Milwaukee's Under-17 and Under-18 girls teams and the Bavarian SC Under-15 boys team made it to the final four in their respective divisions.
The semifinals and Wednesday's finals are at the USA Soccer Complex, with regional champions advancing to the national championships July 27 to 31 in Phoenix.
The Nationals' Under-17 side finished group play 3-0-0 and outscored opponents 12-1 as Paige DeThorne, Brianna LaBarbera and Geena Swentik had two goals apiece. They will play Chicago's Sockers (3-0-0) at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Under-18 team already had clinched a semifinal berth heading into Monday's final day of round-robin action thanks to victories in its first two pool matches.
FC Milwaukee dropped a 2-1 decision to the Michigan Jaguars and finished 2-1-0 along with Ohio Elite, but won the head-to-head tiebreaker thanks to a 3-1 victory in the teams' meeting on Saturday. Next up is an 8 a.m. game Tuesday against Kansas' KCFC Intensity (3-0-0).
The Bavarian SC Under-15 boys team outscored foes 11-2 and wrapped up pool play 3-0-0. Jack Menard led the way with four goals for Bavarian, which plays the Sockers Cup (3-0-0) at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
