United FC midfielder Jaime Colin was named to the Region II team for the U.S. Youth Soccer 1996 Boys Olympic Development Program Winter Interregional in Bradenton, Fla.
The event starts Thursday, with matches scheduled against each of the other three regions. Region II faces Region I on Friday afternoon, Region III on Saturday afternoon and Region IV on Sunday morning.
Colin, a freshman at Kenosha Tremper, was an honorable mention All-Area selection by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel last fall and is part of United FC's Under-15 team that plays in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League. - Hartland's Jordyn Bloomer (Lake Country United) and Daniell Sobelman (FC Milwaukee) were invited to next month's 1997 girls interregional camp in Las Vegas, the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association announced. The schedule for the event hasn't been released.
- WYSA announced the dates for the spring Wisconsin State Championships, better known as the State Cup. Play-in games will be April 28 and 29, with group matches May 26 to 28, semifinals June 2 and finals June 3. All games are scheduled to be played at the USA Youth Soccer Complex in Appleton. The spring competition includes Under-13 to Under-19 boys and Under-13, Under-14 and Under-19 girls.
