Elm Grove Soccer Club's Under-17 boys team won all three of its matches at the Jefferson Cup last weekend in Virginia, getting three goals apiece from Nico Bartolomeo (Pewaukee) and Sam Novak (Milton).
Bartolomeo and Joe Naughton (Milwaukee Marquette) scored in a 2-1 win over New York's Massapequa SC on Friday, and Bartolomeo had the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over the Pennsylvania Classics on Saturday.
Novak had a hat trick to complement goals by Bartolomeo and Cesar Castillo (West Allis Hale) as Elm Grove closed out Elite Group action Sunday with a 5-1 rout of North Carolina's CASL Elite.
Bavarian SC also had a perfect weekend in Under-17 play at the tournament, winning all three of its games in the Platinum Division. The Bavarians beat Virginia's Team America SC 3-2, blanked Cincinnati United Premier Crew Juniors Black 1-0 and knocked off New York's Lake Grove Triangle Vipers 3-1 to win Group A.
In the Under-18 competition, Elm Grove SC went 2-1-0 in the Elite Division -- wins over North Carolina's Charlotte SA Predator (2-1) and Pennsylvania's FC Delco Galaxy (6-1) sandwiched around a 3-0 loss to Beadling SC Blue, another Pennsylvania club.
