Amilcar HerreraMilwaukee Bavarians midfielder Amilcar Herrera (Milwaukee Riverside) earned a spot on the National Premier Soccer League National Championships Best 11.

The Marquette player missed several late-season matches because of plantar fasciitis in his foot, but returned to the lineup for the Midwest Division champions for last week's NPSL Final Four in Madison, Ala.

The Best 11 was selected by local media and league officials.

  • The Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League scored twice in the final 14 minutes to beat the NPSL All-Star team 2-1 on Tuesday night in Georgia. Hartford's Anthony Santaga (Green Bay Notre Dame) and North Carolina's Carlos McCrary of the Madison 56ers and Mountain State's Pedashoo Deneus of Eau Claire Aris FC were involved in the action for the All-Star team, which also lost to NPSL side Rocket City United 3-1 on Friday.
  • Chicago Red Stars midfielder Kara Kabellis (UW) was named to the all-tournament team for the Women's Premier Soccer League Championships.
