The Madison Celtics and Sharpshooters FC are atop the Madison Soccer Association standings as the league takes its summer break.
The Celtics sit atop the Division 1 table with a 4-1-1 record and 13 points, one ahead of Madison Eagle and Madison United (4-2-0). League matches resume in August, with the playoffs in October.
Reigning champion Team Paradigm is fourth with 11 points and the Madison Fire, who saw their two-year run as champs ended in last season's final, sits fifth in the eight-team league with nine points.
In Division 2, Sharpshooters FC is off to a perfect start to its title defense, winning all seven of their matches and building a plus-21 goal differential in the process.
The Wisconsin Wizards (6-1-0), whose lone loss was a 6-1 setback against Sharpshooters, are in second place and enjoy a six-point lead on Bulldogs FC and World Players (4-3-0).
An MSA All-Star team will play the Madison 56ers of the National Premier Soccer League in a friendly Friday night at Breese Stevens Field. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

The Neenah Boom (5-1-0) have a slim lead over Kiel SC and Green Bay's Yale United (4-1-1) in the 10-team Division I of the Northern Wisconsin Soccer League, which didn't have any matches scheduled over the holiday weekend. Fond du Lac CF (3-0-0) and DePere's Miller Chill (3-1-0) head up the eight-team Division II.
