U.S. Adult Soccer AssociationTwo Croatian Eagles teams will play for U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region II championships.

The club's men's Under-23 and women's sides won their groups Saturday at the tournament in Overland Park, Kan., to earn berths in Sunday's finals.

In Under-23 play, UW-Green Bay's Anthony Santaga (Green Bay Notre Dame) scored lone goal as the Croatians topped KC United 1-0 to finish 3-0-0 atop Group B – one of their matches was a forfeit over a Michigan team that dropped out of the event.

The Eagles will play Missouri's Scott Gallagher, which won all three of its games in Group A, at 8 a.m. Sunday for the regional title and a berth in the USASA National Cup Finals from July 15 to 17 in Bowling Green, Kent.

The Croatians' women's team, meanwhile, blanked Missouri's JB Marine 2-0 and Kansas' Dynahawks 3-0 to wrap up the round-robin portion of the competition 3-0-0 and claim a spot in the final at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

All of the Eagles' goals Saturday came in the second half, as they wore down the opposition in both matches.

UW-Milwaukee's Meghan Elvington (Muskego) scored off a free kick by Nicole Sperl (Wauwatosa West/UW-Milwaukee) in approximately the 65th minute against JB Marine, and Michigan Tech's Melanie Hoffman (Pulaski) converted a cross from Nicole Hirsch (Brookfield Central/UW-Milwaukee) in the 85th to seal the victory.

UW-Parkside's Natalie Brown (Germantown), UWM's Laurel Ragalie (Kenosha Bradford) and Western Illinois' Chrissy Campbell (Greendale) found the back of the net against the Dynahawks as the Croatians finished with a 7-1 goal differential in the round-robin.

The Eagles' Majors team didn't advance to the final in the Men's Amateur division, as they tied Missouri's Kutis 1-1 and dropped a 3-0 decision to Group B winner RWB Adria from Illinois to finish 0-1-2 on the weekend.
