FC Milwaukee NationalsLast year, FC Milwaukee made its first foray into adult soccer by entering a team in the Women's Premier Soccer League.

Which begs the question: Are there any plans for the club to add a men's team?

"I think we'd like to have a Majors team," said Christian Lavers, the club's Academy Director and WPSL coach. "Right now, I think the WPSL is our adult program. I think we would like at some point to have a men's equivalent."

Lavers said FC Milwaukee's ultimate goal is to provide teams for players of all ages, from youth to adult.

However, that doesn't mean the club will be rushing to create a men's team.

"It's a matter of having the infrastructure to support that and do it well. Obviously, we don't want to put a product out there that is a half-baked product," Lavers said. "We didn't do anything on the adult women's side for a while, but when we did for the first time last year, we felt confident we could put a good team out there and deliver a good product, and I think the results spoke for themselves (the team advanced to the WPSL national semifinals).

"We'll look at the same thing on the men's side. When we think 'OK, we're ready now, we have the staff that can handle it and we have the field space and it's the right competition platform,' then I think we'd like to do that."
