The four-team battle for three spots in the Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League playoffs is still too close to call, even with just a few matches left to play.
The quartet of teams – Milwaukee Sport Club, Milwaukee Kickers, United Serbians and Bavarian SC – are within two points of one another heading into two or three makeup games that will be played during the week.
Defending champion Croatian Eagles (15-1-1) are the only team that has clinched a spot in Sunday's semifinals.
Sport Club (11-4-2) currently sits second with 35 points following their 3-1 win over Milwaukee Serbians on Sunday, their seventh straight win since a 4-1 loss to the Kickers to open the spring portion of the schedule.
They'll put that streak on the line Wednesday night against Bavarian SC (10-4-3, 33) in a crucial match. Bavarians, who have won a record 15 Major titles, dropped a 1-0 decision to Croatians on Sunday, ending their five-game unbeaten streak.
The other two sides in contention, Kickers (11-6-1, 34) and United Serbians (10-3-3, 33), played to a scoreless draw Sunday.
The Kickers' season is complete, but United Serbians will play host to Madison United (7-6-3) in a rescheduled match Wednesday. And depending on the result of that game, they also could play Croatians on Friday in another makeup – that match will only be played if the three playoff spots are not determined after Wednesday's games.
The WASA tiebreakers are head to head and goals between teams, most wins, fewest losses, most ties, goals scored and goals against.
